humanity seems to carry the potential for both good and evil.
On one hand, we’re capable of incredible kindness, empathy, and cooperation. People often help strangers, create art, build communities, and show compassion even when it costs them something. Many philosophers and psychologists believe that our natural inclination is toward social bonding and moral behavior.
On the other hand, history — and sometimes daily life — shows we’re also capable of cruelty, selfishness, and violence. Fear, prejudice, or desperation can lead people to act in harmful ways.
Maybe it’s less about being inherently one or the other, and more about our capacity for both. Context, upbringing, culture, and personal choices often tip the scale. Most of us are somewhere in the middle, trying to do our best with the circumstances we’re given.
So, I’d say humanity isn’t fundamentally good or evil — but we’re always capable of choosing between them.
