There’s no single right answer, because what’s most important is deeply personal. However, a common thread among many different viewpoints is that a person’s most important goal should be to live a meaningful life.
A meaningful life isn’t just about being happy or accumulating possessions. It’s about feeling like your existence has purpose and value. This can look different for everyone, but some key elements often contribute to it.
Personal Growth
This involves a lifelong journey of learning, self-discovery, and improvement. It’s about understanding your strengths and weaknesses, cultivating new skills, and constantly challenging yourself. When you commit to personal growth, you’re not just existing—you’re evolving. This can be as simple as learning a new language or as complex as working to become a more patient person.
Connection
Humans are social creatures, and our well-being is strongly tied to our relationships. Fostering deep, meaningful connections with others—family, friends, and community—is a powerful source of purpose. This isn’t just about having people in your life; it’s about giving and receiving support, empathy, and love.
Contribution
Many people find purpose in contributing to something larger than themselves. This could be through a career that makes a positive impact, volunteering for a cause you believe in, or simply being a helpful and kind member of your community. When you focus on helping others, it can give your own life a sense of direction and significance.
Ultimately, the most important goal isn’t a specific destination, but rather the pursuit of a life that feels authentic and purposeful to you. It’s a continuous process of aligning your actions with your values, whatever they may be.
In my opinion, it should be to help others, whether it be your kids if you have kids, or others if you don’t. That and having a relationship with God. The second one is most important spiritually.

I can’t speak for every person goals, because we all have our own goals. I can only speak for my own goals that I’m working towards!!

To become the best version of themselves—not in terms of achievement or status, but in kindness, self-awareness, and purpose. That means:
· Growing in empathy and compassion
· Learning continuously
· Leaving things better than they found them
It’s less about one specific goal and more about a direction: toward meaning, connection, and a life well-lived.
