Yes, I was taught to save money growing up. My dad was a General Foreman at Caterpillar and brought paperwork home all the time. I like sitting at the table when my dad was working on paperwork. My mom worked at Federal Kemper Insurance, but she worked for spending money.
I was a good saver and never wanted to spend my money, I got savings bonds instead when I was little. Even opened a savings account.
One time a tornado was getting ready to hit the neighbor and we had to take cover. I hurried and gathered my money and the doggies❣
I learned to be frugal and don’t spend over your head. I’m still frugal. Don’t use your credit card not unless you come home and pay the credit card bill or of course, if it is an emergency then use it.
My mom would give me her credit card. Girlfriends & I would go to the mall all day. My mom would ask how much I spent and there were many times I said zero, I couldn’t find anything or did but not on sale❗❗ I am still this way❗❗
My hubby is like me regarding this subject. We organize the bills by due date, and we pay our bills first❗
