The major cause of mental illness is prolonged, unaddressed stress acting on a vulnerable mind. When emotional, psychological, or life pressures such as trauma, loss, chronic hardship, or isolation persist without adequate support, they gradually disrupt brain chemistry, thought patterns, and emotional balance. Biological factors like genetics and hormones, environmental influences, and suppressed or unresolved emotions often combine with this stress, making the mind struggle to cope. Mental illness, therefore, is not a sign of weakness, but the result of too much pressure carried for too long without proper care, understanding, or relief.
