When betrayal comes from someone I least expected, it hurts differently because it breaks trust and shakes the picture I had of that person. I deal with it by first accepting the pain instead of pretending I’m fine. I allow myself to feel it, because ignoring it only makes it heavier. I remind myself that their actions are a reflection of who they are, not who I am. I take the lesson without taking the blame. I learn to adjust my boundaries, not harden my heart. I choose distance where necessary and peace over bitterness. With time, I forgive not to excuse what was done, but to release myself from carrying the hurt. Betrayal teaches me discernment, strength, and the wisdom to trust again, but this time with clearer eyes and a stronger sense of self.
