“Follow your passion” sounds inspiring… but is it actually good advice?
Some people say passion is the fuel that makes hard work feel easier—and that it leads to success if you stay consistent. Others say it’s a trap that keeps people dreaming, switching directions, and avoiding the boring-but-profitable skills that actually build a stable life.
So what do you think?
Is “follow your passion” a smart life strategy… or one of the biggest traps?
And if you’ve tried it: did it help you—or hurt you? 👇
I’ve always followed my passions and it’s worked out very well for me. Growing up, I loved messing with my own and my friends’ hair and makeup. So, I followed my passion and became a hairstylist/makeup artist which I did for years, until I developed severe allergies to chemicals (hair dye, permanent wave solutions, hair bleach, etc. ). So I had to switch careers, which broke my heart!
Later on I became a web content writer for law firms because of my passion for writing. I made more money doing work I loved than I had ever made in my life for about 12 years, until my husband passed and my mental state/ emotions were all over the place and I had to regroup and go in a different direction because I just couldn’t concentrate.
Now I’m retired, so that’s my new passion lol 🤣 and of course, working on Luckscout with the most beautiful people in the world!!
