“Follow your passion” sounds inspiring… but is it actually good advice?
Some people say passion is the fuel that makes hard work feel easier—and that it leads to success if you stay consistent. Others say it’s a trap that keeps people dreaming, switching directions, and avoiding the boring-but-profitable skills that actually build a stable life.
So what do you think?
Is “follow your passion” a smart life strategy… or one of the biggest traps?
And if you’ve tried it: did it help you—or hurt you? 👇
Follow your passion” sounds inspiring, but for many people it becomes a trap. Not because passion is useless, but because it’s misunderstood. Most people don’t discover passion by waiting they discover it by moving. You try something. You struggle. You improve. Confidence grows. And suddenly, you care. Passion often comes after progress, not before it. Waiting for a perfect passion can keep you stuck. Taking action creates clarity. Build skills. Create value. Stay curious. Keep moving. Passion has a way of catching up to people who don’t stand still. So don’t chase passion. Chase growth and passion will follow.

Perhaps why they said “follow” an action word. I agree
