I remember children playing outside, jumping rope, shooting marbles, playing jacks, hopscotch, hide and go seek and many other outside games. Children were healthier and seemed to be happier. In today’s society, children are on cell phones, laptops, iPad or sitting in front of the tv. I would love to see little girls outside jumping rope or little boys doing what boys do to have fun!
A primary element society has lost, which many wish to regain is a genuine sense of community and face-to-face connection. Increased isolation, driven by screen-time dependence, social media, and the decline of, or restricted access to, public, non-commercial spaces like local parks and cafes, has replaced local interaction with digital interaction.
