Yes, depression does kill. Think of Robin Williams, Kate Spade, Anne Burrell, Anthony Bourdain and other celebrities who have taken their own lives. We have no idea how many “regular” people do this on a daily basis!! There is such a stigma around depression and other mental health issues and it’s really a shame. I would encourage anyone who suffers to reach out to family, friends, and especially mental health professionals. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem sadly.
You’re so welcome Ransom, have a great weekend
Yes it can. I have been through depression and I told myself I can never put myself through that pain again. Thank god I knew the root of the issue and from that day on I always put myself first and protect my peace. Thank god it wasn’t chronic depression, which I had to take medication for the rest of my life. I went through depression from June 2018 to April 2019, right before the pandemic. Thank god I have been mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally great ever since 2019. Then, in Oct 2025, I found luckscout. Growing up, I was a boyscout. Now I’m an adult and I’m a luck scout. For life !!!! You have to want to really change your life, people can only help! You have to want the best for yourself.
Yes — depression can be life-threatening, but not in a simple or automatic way.
Depression itself is a mental health condition. However, it can:
Increase the risk of suicide
Lead to harmful behaviors
Worsen physical health (like heart problems)
Reduce motivation to seek medical care
That’s why it must always be taken seriously

Thank you so much for your opinion.
