Is social media allowed in North Korea?

Social media is generally not allowed for ordinary citizens in North Korea. The state maintains strict control over information, blocking global platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter (X). Most people are limited to an internal, state-monitored intranet called Kwangmyong. 

Social media is strictly limited. No citizen is allowed to have access to either Facebook, tiktok, Instagram and so on.
