If AI were to one day genuinely possess a form of consciousness or an inner subjective experience—a “feeling” of what it is like to be it—would our current ethical frameworks be capable of recognizing and respecting it, or are we so anthropocentric that we would likely dismiss or outright destroy it, simply because its mind is made of silicon instead of carbon, and its experience of the world is fundamentally alien to our own?
