I recently came across a report about the lowest-paying college majors for Gen Z graduates in the United States.

According to the report, these majors currently lead to the lowest median incomes for workers aged 22–27:
Pharmacy – $40,000
Theology & Religion – $41,600
Social Services – $43,000
Performing Arts – $44,000
General Education – $45,000
Early Childhood Education – $45,000
Elementary Education – $45,000
Liberal Arts – $45,000
Biology – $45,000
Leisure & Hospitality – $45,000
At the same time, AI and automation are rapidly reshaping the job market. Some roles are shrinking, some are changing, and completely new opportunities are emerging.
But history shows something interesting:
Whenever technology disrupts industries, it also creates new opportunities for those who adapt.
For example, we are already seeing growth in areas like:
AI tools and prompt engineering
Digital entrepreneurship
Online education and coaching
Content creation and personal branding
Data analysis and tech-driven services
So here’s something I’m curious about:
With AI transforming the job market, what new opportunities have you noticed emerging in your field or industry?
Do you think the next generation should rethink what they study, or focus more on skills instead of degrees?
Let’s hear your perspective.
