There is so much evil and suffering in the world partly because humans have free will.
People can choose kindness, justice, and compassion—but they can also choose greed, hatred, and selfishness. When those negative choices multiply, suffering spreads.
At the same time, the world also shows incredible acts of love, sacrifice, and courage. Sometimes the presence of suffering pushes people to become better, stronger, and more compassionate.
In a strange way, the world seems to be a constant battle between the worst and the best of human nature.
