It’s human nature for most humans; it’s definitely self-interest, but it’s like crime. If they could get away with it with no consequences, they would continue to be the way they are, which is why the world is a mess. It’s more selfish people in the world than people who actually care about others. Some people only care if it’s affecting them and their bottom line; if it’s not, then they keep living a selfish life, and it’s sad. We all need to do better, in my opinion
