I prefer both when it is necessary. If I am home, I may prefer to talk on the phone when I am able to. I don’t mind texting when someone sends me a message. Yet, when I feel that there is more for me to talk to them about, that is when I would prefer to have a conversation with them over the phone. I don’t really like texting all day, because at some point I would like to have a phone conversation with someone. If texting tends to take place all week long, then that is when I would suggest to whomever that I am talking to, to let’s engage into a conversation over the phone. But, honestly, when I am extremely busy throughout the week, I may not be able to have a phone conversation, due to my busy schedule.
I prefer calling; you can actually hear if they mean what they’re saying or if they’re lying by their tone. You can’t do that with chatting; after typing, your hands will hurt, and you’ll want to exit. You can’t have meaningful conversations through text; it will get redundant after a while. Chatting is cool, but not when you want to get to know someone better. In person and a phone call are the best bet, but that’s my opinion. Chatting, you can’t tell when somebody is sad, mad, or glad unless it’s lol or an emoji attached to it, and it doesn’t mean that they’re laughing; it’s just a habit we do, sometimes even to end the conversation. I like chatting for quick conversations but calling for detail-oriented conversations
