I have not bought any at the store for years.
My daughter has chickens. She keeps me supplied. They are all different colors. White, brown, blue. She told us to keep on shelf until ready to use them. Then wash them and keep in refrigerator.
A lot of deviled eggs has been happening here. It’s a favorite request for all.
I found the question interesting since I usually buy brown eggs. After researching online, I learned that the eggshell’s color—whether white, brown, or any other hue—is solely determined by the breed of the hen and does not affect the egg’s freshness or shelf life. Instead, factors like proper refrigeration, handling, and storage practices play a much more significant role in how long eggs remain fresh.
So I don’t know why the white egg went bad earlier 🤷♀️
Interesting question. I’d always preferred brown eggs for some reason. My local market sells organic brown eggs and they are amazing.
Thanks Alexander, I asked because we currently have both, bought at the same time, but the white ones went off while the brown are ok?

How do you store them, Erica? In the shade?
