Artificial intelligence feels invisible.

We see apps.
We see chatbots.
We see “smart” systems.

What we don’t see are the enormous industrial buildings behind them.

AI data centers run 24/7.
They consume vast amounts of electricity.
They use significant water for cooling.
They generate constant mechanical noise.

And they are increasingly being built near residential communities.

Local residents often learn about these projects after approvals are already underway — with limited transparency about water usage, power demand, environmental impact, or long-term infrastructure strain.

Water is not infinite.
Electric grids are not unlimited.
Communities are not testing grounds.

We are not anti-technology.
We are pro-transparency, pro-environment, and pro-community rights.

We demand:

• Mandatory environmental impact assessments before approval
• Full public disclosure of projected water and energy usage
• Community consultation and consent
• Strict noise and emissions standards
• Ongoing public reporting after operations begin

AI innovation must not quietly shift environmental costs onto local families.

Progress should be responsible — not rushed.

I’m signing this petition because Accountability is necessary. The environmental costs of AI shouldn’t be ignored. Communities and ecosystems shouldn’t bear the burden of excessive water use, thus transparency, accountability, and sustainable practices must not be ignored.

As AI continues to grow, we must ask important questions about sustainability and accountability. Innovation should not come at the cost of basic resources. Governments, companies, and users all share responsibility in ensuring that technological advancement does not drain the very water communities depend on.
