I think the math has to be based off of items we learn to count because we go back to the way we were taught when we count. In others words the 1+1 = 2 is a method used to help us learn how to understand how to count and as far 11 is concerned don’t know what it represents.

Is that in maths we have quantities and numbers. And a quantity can be represented by a number.
