Do you really listen, or do you wait to speak?

This was not the question I wanted to ask originally, but guess what, I forgot the original question! Lol

The above is something i try not to do, but guilty of waiting to speak(normally in disagreements!)

My wife says I don’t listen. I try to but the real test comes when she asks me what did I say and I don’t know.

Truthfully, many a times I errors on this. I just wait to speak, until when I realizes of my unconscious mistake, I calm down, then I would play a good listener. Oh! That bad manners.

9/10 times I do get defensive when I am being accused of something I did not do. I overreact, Walls comes up and I shutdown. I will leave the conversation, and refuse to talk until I process everything and then I will hash it out.
