We own our home. We still have a mortgage that we have to pay on each month, but we already have a lot of equity built up since we purchased this house over 10 years ago and property values have increased a lot. Also, our payment stays the same from month to month unlike rent which can be increased each year. We do have upkeep on our property which you probably don’t have when you rent. We have about an acre of land so we can get outside, garden, sit in the sunshine, walk, whatever, but there is the grass and other yard work that has to be taken care of and might not be something everyone would want to do, but we enjoy it. At the end of our mortgage payments, we will own this cozy little dream of ours, so I think owning , (if you can) is better than renting.
