To answer your question in the manner it is worded, yes, it’s your cake. What else are you supposed to do with it?
Yet, even still, whomever invented the phrase, “You can’t have your cake and eat it too,” “You just wanna have your cake and eat it too,” should have thought of something else to mean “wanting something in excess,” “wanting more of what one already has,” or “wanting what they have and what others have in addition.” Or, in other words, being greedy or unsatisfied.
I’m not sure why anyone would bake or buy a cake just to have it. To have cake is to eat cake. Unless you absolutely despise cake, but a fond of baking them for fun to collect them, (a difficult hobby to maintain considering the perishable feature & storage), it’s the only way i see one having cake and not eating it.
Maybe it would’ve been better to say something such as,
“You can’t have your cake and eat everyone else’s too,” or,
“You just wanna have your cake and eat everyone else’s too.”
I dunno. It’s just my opinion.
I tend to drift at times and usually will catch myself, before it’s too late. At other times, it’s too late. LoL However, another time you can have your cake and eat it is at your party!
Also, thank you, Ben for your intuitive response. Have a great evening.

That is some deep thinking there Latasha, I like it. Thank you
