What Would You Do If You See One of the Shoppers Stealing in a Supermarket?

There’s so many factors involved here. 9 times out of ten, I would chuckle to myself and then go about my business, especially if it’s a department store. Stealing is wrong,  but I don’t know about that person’s life, of they are homeless, feeding an addiction or being forced by someone to steal. Or even if they are just a career theif! If it’s a mom n pop store or local, I would probably say something to the owner or staff. Large stores have contingencies in place for theft let them deal with it. Large or small store I know it all adds up, but that’s just what I would or have done before.

can be a vey uncomfortable situation,

Find a staff member and report it. Try and get a picture of it.

I would definitely report them ..

I would report to a staff.

I wouldn’t say anything because if they are stealing food they are probably hungry or have hungry kids. It’s not my place to judge.

Quietly find someone works at the store and tell them

I would mind my own business and walk in the opposite direction. Times a hard, I get it, but most stores these days, if not all stores have security cameras now. They would just make themselves more famous with a picture on candid camera for the police department, just instant karma in my opinion.

If I saw someone stealing in a supermarket, I’d make sure I’m safe and not get involved in anything risky. Then, I’d just find a store employee or security guard and let them know what’s happening. It’s probably best to leave it to them to handle, instead of confronting the person myself. Staying calm and letting the staff take care of it is the best way to go.

I would notify security if possible. That is the problem no punishment for crimes.

times are hard yeah but still no excuse for stealing. Just saying.

I’ve seen it so much times, I would do nothing because I wouldn’t want to get myself in danger and maybe they really desperate

I would be wise to mind my own business.

Mind my business. Desperate times calls for desperate measures. Someone could be risking it All just to feed their family. Food shouldn’t be so dang expensive anyways.

I would not confront the thief, I might mention it to store staff so they could do something.

The world is so crazy nowadays you just don’t know what people are capable of it might be cowardly but I don’t think I’d want to get involved in case they are carrying a weapon or something.

Find store manager and let them know. They can take care of it. No one needs to steal. They need to ask for help if they are that desperate 🙏

Times are tough out here. As long as there is no threat of harm, I’m making way to the deli counter.
