I have been there and it’s a horrible and sometimes hopeless feeling. First of all I would not tell someone who is depressed that it will pass soon and everything will be fine. At the moment someone is depressed, they don’t feel like it will ever be fine or that they will be happy and normal again.
I would offer a shoulder to cry on, tell them I’m there to talk or just listen any time, and try to convince them to seek help from professionals if they are at a really low point and having suicidal thoughts.
I would start by saying, I can see this a really tough time for you. I would reassure them by saying it is ok not to be ok and that it is alright to feel that way. I have to show to them that I don’t judge them and that I really care and willing to offer help. I would then say, if you want to talk about it, I want you to know that I am here for you. You are not alone in this. If they don’t feel confident talking to me I can ask them if they have considered seeking professional help. Not everyone is a Christian so I would seek consent if they are happy if I pray with them.
For people with depression, it is important that we are there, whether it is through silence, listening, or a warm presence!
I would say – I am truly sorry that you feel this way. I want you to know that you are not alone, even though you may feel this way right now. It is okay to need help or to lean on someone. I care and I am here for you ❤️❤️❤️
Psalms 34:18 (KJV) The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Matthew 11:28 (KJV) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:29 (KJV) Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Philippians 4:6 (KJV) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:7 (KJV) And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Depression is pressure on your thoughts to get rid of depression you must go to the creator and the creator will give you peace that passeth all understanding. But also will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
One other verse I want to give you is this
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first, the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
I hope this helps for your depression and I pray that God will answer you and give you peace. God bless you sister.
If someone is experiencing depression, I’d say:
You are not alone. Even though it may not feel like it right now, there are people who care about you and want to support you. You don’t have to go through this by yourself.
Your feelings are valid. Whatever you’re feeling—sadness, exhaustion, emptiness—it’s real, and it matters. You don’t need to justify it to anyone.
You are stronger than you think. Just making it through each day takes courage. Even small steps forward are victories, and they count.
It’s okay to ask for help. Talking to someone—whether a friend, family member, or professional—can make a difference. You deserve support, and there’s no shame in reaching out.
This moment does not define you. Depression is something you are experiencing, not who you are. There is hope, and things can get better, even if it doesn’t seem that way now.
I’m here to listen. If you ever want to share what’s on your mind, I’m here for you. ❤️
