Does time flow forward or is the passage of time an illusion?

Time feels like it flows forward, but some physicists think that’s just an illusion—like all moments exist at once, and our brains just experience them in order.

Definitely flows forward but it’s something that means nothing to God because he is time.

Time is definitely not an illusion. If it was, we would’ve found a way to manipulate it. Until then, it does seem to move forward.

If it wasn’t given the name, Time,what would we call the repetition of the sun lighting up the world and the moon shining when the sky is dark? Days change and we get older not younger. So the thing we call time does indeed pass in my humble opinion.

This is a very interesting question Jacqueline.  I appreciate you asking it.  It really does make one think quite a bit about time.  As we look toward the future,  we think we have all kinds of time.  Then we look at what has passed….. Time that has been used.  And then here we are in the present; but only for a moment.  So all of that said, I think time flows, but it flows towards our past.

If you ask Einstein…he would speak to the theory of relativity, it depends on your frame of reference. Others argue the second law of thermodynamics, an arrow of time that our brains interpret as forward movement. For me, I would say it moves forward with the creation as the beginning and then an eventual end.

I believe time flows forward and isn’t an illusion at all!

Time appears to flow forward due to increasing entropy, but some theories suggest this passage is a human perceived illusion.

I look at time based on months,days,and years.Time does move forward.As I have belief in the Most High,it has been stated that spirits have been able to go through the present and the past and the future.This can also be the reason why the time machine is still being talked about and the attempt is still out there in building that.Time really does not stand still.

When I think about time, I have to refer to the scriptures. Daniel 7:25 “man think to change the times”. So, it has to flow forward.

Maybe we live in the past. It just takes a while for our brain to process it. Interesting answer isn’t it?
