Yes, some do; it’s an authority thing. Some officers have no power in their home, so they use it on the job. Some officers were bullies as kids, so they bully people on the job. Some officers figure if I abuse my authority, I can move up in the ranks faster. So it’s multiple reasons, but overall some people take their jobs a little more seriously than needed. We’re humans; we’re all here to help and service others in some way or another. So being a cop is a service business; number 1, you have to be a people person. Unfortunately, the way the police system is set up, it’s about money and politics. Until politicians change laws and enforce heavy consequences for excessive police force, things won’t change. Police kill people, hurt people, etc., and most of them get a slap on the wrist. It’s never all police officers, but some are corrupted; it does not matter what state or country you live in, it’s the same thing.
