I mean, food that you love and enjoy but its bad for you! Alot of , if not, all, of us grew up eating what our parents or guardians gave us and generations before us and them did the same. Now in this time of information, we are able to see the damage and/ or benefits of what we have been eating. So, could you give up for instance, fried food or meat?
I’m not sure I could, or it would be extremely difficult! Yet, I would probably say that I am NOT addicted to food! ( but I think I am, lol)
Now that I have learned about the proper human diet, I choose fatty meat, good oils and low carbohydrate vegetables and fruits. Before, I was addicted to high carbohydrates like cake, rice, ice cream etc. which made me overweight and bloated. Sugar caused me a lot of trouble: headache, moodswing, difficulty to lose weight and others.
I have learned to limit sugar intake since I was educated through Soc Med, thank you to the technologies we have now which are a source of great information whether it be bad or good, and now I don’t rely much on the info from medical and food industry.
Well done sis! Good healthy eating, good for the body and soul
Food is an essential or rather basic commodity. We eat to enriched our body with essential nutrients for its proper nourishment. Foods do not have addictive substances, lest they cause addiction. We refer to those who likes eating every now and again as food mongers. But that is not bad if it is your life style.
Thank you brother. I maybe should have rephrased my question to be more specific. I wanted to gauge if people could give up a food which they knew was unhealthy but they really enjoyed eating on a regular basis.
I like to eat,but I don’t overeat.Speaking of eating what you like but knowing it is detrimental to your health,in my younger years, every time the Christmas season came around,I would eat lots of milk chocolate candies, and then candy canes.Oh,I would also make sure I had healthy foods added to my diet.Eating those candies went on for a few years.I finally told my father what I had been doing concerning that He advised to cut down on that if I did not want to be diagnosed with diabetes before middle age.I did cut back. Those sweets are not eaten in small amounts. If I want something sweet during the holidays,I have a big cup of eggnog.I like food, but I am not addicted to it.

Hmmmm sister Dum, can we have some examples of your preferred fresh food?
