Happy Lasagna Day!
How do you make your lasagna? What is something special you do with it that others may find odd?
I learned a trick in high school to add cinnamon to your meat sauce. It is amazingly good and it takes it to the next level.
Aside from that, I love, love, LOVE ricotta cheese! And mozz cheese. The more cheese, the better.
But keep those onions out of my lasagna. Onion power is fine, but I can’t do onion texture.
Let’s share!
I’ve never made it
That’s okay! I’d totally recommend you try it. Knowing your vast knowledge of spices, I know you’d come up with something amazing.
I have never made one 🙁 but love to eat it.
Fair enough! It’s a labor of love for sure, but so worth it.
Kathryn thank you
Lasagna is a classic! 🍝 To make it, I’d start with layers of ground meat or veggies, followed by rich tomato sauce, creamy ricotta cheese, and of course, plenty of melted mozzarella 🧀. Fresh basil and a sprinkle of parmesan would add the perfect finishing touches 🌿.
Sounds like a delicious, classic lasagna! Happy cooking, and thanks for sharing!
Lasagna noodles + hamburger meat + spaghetti sauce + ricotta cheese + Parmesan cheese + jalapeno peppers + tomatoes
Jalapenos?? I’m kicking myself that I never tried that before. My husband and I love spicy food. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome
I never knew or heard of a Happy Lasagna Day? But I do like lasagna but I’ve never made it. I made Spaghetti with meat balls, with slices of tomatoes and slices of Cocoomba.
There are a lot of “unofficial” holidays in America that are simply fun to celebrate, because who doesn’t like to celebrate??
Your spaghetti does sound delicious though, thanks for sharing!
Lasagna, never heard of it. I would be much interested to know what others are saying.
It’s layers of lasagna noodles (pasta), sauce, cheese, and meat. Some add other veggies while others are made of just cheese. Lots of ways to make it!
I’ve only made lasagna twice and it was by a receipe, that I lost. It was a hit.
Aww, I hope you can recreate it! Might make for a fun cooking activity with the grands 😉
You have motivated me to really find this receipe! 🙂
Well this is embarrassing, I love lasagna but I’ve never made it in my life! I watch Ree Drummond (the Pioneer Woman) on TV and she makes it a few different ways, if I ever do make it I’ll look her recipes up on her website. Happy lasagna day!
It’s a bit of a labor of love, but it’s worth it! Pro tip: cook the noodles first. Even the ones that claim you don’t need to cook them need a little cooking first. Happy cooking!
Thank you Kathryn I will definitely try that!
I have a delicious recipe, and it is with Ricotti cheese. I don’t make it often, but it is requested.
I think it’s a pretty expensive main dish if you layer it well and all. Ricotti cheese is pretty expensive here. Mine takes more than just a pound of hamburger too. Also, mine calls for two jars of marinera sauce.
Manicotti is a lot harder though. I would go lasagna, and I reckon it’s about that time. 👩🏻🍳 I will have to write what I need on my list for a dinner next week. Thanks for the dinner idea. 👩🏻🍳
It is expensive, but soooo worth it, and great to make in bulk. Happy eating!

That’s okay! It is a labor of love, but it’s worth it if you ever want to try it 🙂
