Teachers always talk about making time for homework and to prioritize but never teach how to. Maybe time management?

One thing schools should be teaching — seriously teaching is how to take care of your health in a real, lifelong way. Not just the food pyramid from the ’90s or how to label a diagram of the heart. I’m talking about how food actually works in the body, how to build habits around movement, sleep, and stress. Kids should leave school knowing how to read a nutrition label, cook a basic meal, and understand that what you eat affects your brain just as much as your waistline. We spend all this time testing kids but never teach them how to take care of the one thing they need to keep running their whole lives their body.

Before i look at any other answers, they should bec teaching about money. How to manage it and how too run your own business, taxes and entrepreneurship. A history of money would also be useful.

I think that schools should teach home economics like they used to many decades ago. Also, students should be taught finances and definitely office skills to prepare them and for them to know what to expect so they will not be overwhelmed when they get there. Then, they should be taught communication skills, and self esteem. These would help make them better folks.
Personal finance education is essential because it equips individuals with the skills necessary to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives. Without a solid understanding of topics like budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management, people are more likely to struggle with financial instability, making costly mistakes that could impact their future. Teaching personal finance in schools would help young people develop responsible money habits early, preventing issues like excessive debt, poor credit, or lack of retirement savings.

Accountability, moving past and dealing with child hood trauma. Finances or handling money. Balancing a check book. Or being able handle cash when dealing with a cash transaction without having to pull out a calculator.

One important area not often emphasized in schools, but which should be, is personal responsibility. This includes understanding budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt. Additionally, learning about responsible borrowing and avoiding scams can equip students with essential life skills for financial stability and well-being.

I think that it would be about designing stuff like shoes make different games and clothes.
Great thinking Steven thanks for sharing your comment
Something that isn’t taught in school that should be taught is financial literacy. It should be taught around middle school or high school that way children will maybe see another pathway to life.

I think life skills should be taught more. Things like cooking, managing finances and other skills that would make the transition from childhood to adulthood a little easier.

I believe emotional intelligence should be taught in schools. Understanding your own emotions, managing stress, communicating clearly, and empathizing with others are important life skills. They are as important as math or science, yet many people grow up without learning how to manage conflict, express themselves in healthy ways, or build strong relationships. Teaching emotional intelligence from an early age can improve mental health, reduce bullying, and help students grow into more compassionate and aware adults.

Honestly basic life skills because some of these kids now are lacking. Im not saying the parents are too but it would be important especially as they get older.
Great point Natasha, but I think that it is the parent’s job to teach first then the school just implements what already should put in place from home. The kids or out of control because the parents are out of control. Kids can’t help how they are, and the school can’t help them either. Even if they do start a class to teach them moral ethics it would be a hard class to teach because nothing is changing at their home. That issue would just remain a problem that would be hard to contain and thank you for sharing your comment.
I was gonna say business and finance but someone else said finances already so I’ll say they should teach children more about Jesus and his teachings because they are the best Morals to live by, I’m not talking about religion, just referring to Jesus and his character, they definitely don’t do that enough.
Don’t know if you know but they took those teaching’s out of school years ago because of too many parents complaining about the teaching’s and some simply just didn’t want their children taught by the schools anyway thank you for sharing your comment
